A lovely addition to the garden, this succulent has hard, angular grey foliage. Its crowning glory, however, is the wonderful umbrella of densely packed, crimson-red flowers borne on a spike above the foliage in late summer or autumn. It literally looks as if it is ablaze with colour. Use as an accent in the rockery, or plant a mass for a show-stopping display. It grows quite tall with time, so allow for height when planning.
