It is a fast-growing, semi-deciduous, erect to semi-prostrate stoloniferous herbaceous perennial. Tufted, branched stems are produced from the crown of the stolons. The mature plants reach up to 300 mm high and spreads sideways, rooting as it goes, forming a mat of light green leaves. Single flowers are arranged along an elongated, unbranched axis (raceme) forming an inflorescence and produced on the terminal branches. It thrives with adequate watering, however it is fairly drought tolerant too. It is best suited to areas that are not too humid and hot and requires good drainage.
