Leaves and stems of the white version are fresh green. The under-leaves and stems of the cerise version are deep maroon in colour. This hybrid has been produced in a number of colours. For quick, lush growth and a profusion of flowers, it is worthwhile giving these plants a strong start. Plant in well-drained loam or sandy soil with the addition of compost and fertiliser according to your soil needs. Mulch thickly to retain water. Regular watering is needed for these hybrids. Frequent light pruning or tipping is necessary to keep them compact and bushy. Prune back hard after flowering during mid-winter.
